Fareham and Crofton Cricket club has had a colts section for many years which continues to grow, supporting and developing young people attracted to playing the sport. The club values all young people who wish to play the game and two years ago developed the principles by which cricket training would be offered to young people in the club, they are as follows:
In addition the club has developed guidelines for young colts and their parents on the shared responsibilities of enjoying the game of cricket.
The colts section of the club has a membership this year of 70 + young people from the ages of 6-15 yrs and enters the South East Hampshire cricket league with four age groups at Under 9, Under 11, Under 13 and Under 15. As young people leave the Under 15 age groups many continue to play for the adult side of the club. The Club participates in the Hampshire development programme for young people who have an aptitude for cricket, and this year have 19 young people who have received development training.
The club offers indoor training all year round using the facilities of local community schools and therefore enters the indoor league at Under 13 and Under 15.
The colts section has always relied upon the dedication of volunteers to support the training and development of young people and the club has managed to continue to recruit willing cricketers and parents to support this role, with out whom there would be no colts at Fareham and Crofton Cricket Club. For this Bath Lane centenary year the following individuals continue to support young people with the development of their cricket. All the coaches are registered by the English Cricket Board.

The secretary of the colts section is Tina Stoddart and the treasurer is Jan Wylde. In addition there are many parents who support both training and matches; Fareham and Crofton Cricket Club would like to take this opportunity to thank them all for their valuable contribution and support.
